Flooding has occurred in many places of Kathmandu as a result of the constant rain. The district police complex in Kathmandu has reported that numerous places have been inundated and waterlogged as a result of the continuous rain since previous night.
Heavy rains caused flooding in Dhungedhara, Gourighat, Guhyeshwari, Kapan, Samakhusi, Anamnagar, and other regions of Kathmandu Valley, according to Chief of District Police Complex Kathmandu and Senior Superintendent of Police Dan Bahadur Karki. “Various areas of Kathmandu have been flooded due to heavy rains,” he added. “Our police team has been deployed in the flooded areas since morning, regular patrolling and miking in the areas around the Bagmati and Manohara rivers for awareness.”
Similarly, torrential rains have flooded highways, homes, and school zones, disrupting people’s life. According to the police, the flow of water in the rivers and streams running through the valley has increased due to heavy rainfall in the areas of Budhanil Kanth, Sundarijal, and Nagarkot in Kathmandu Valley. The Flood Forecasting Division has suggested that the water level in Bishnumati, Dhobikhola, Manohara, and other areas be kept on high alert until 11:00 a.m.
According to the district police complex Kathmandu, the water overwhelmed the slums around Redon College in Samakhusi, Nilo Bridge in Kapan, and the Mulpani neighborhood. According to the Chief of District Police Complex Kathmandu and Senior Superintendent of Police Karki, the rivers in the valley would overflow due to the constant rainfall.
