Kathmandu, May 27, 2024: Mr. Chiranjibi Adhikari, General Secretary of the Federation of Computer Association Nepal (CAN), has been honored with the prestigious ICT Excellence Award 2024 for his outstanding contributions to Nepal’s information and communications technology (ICT) sector. The award ceremony, part of a special cultural program hosted by Chandralok Pratishthan to celebrate the 17th Republic Day, took place at the Russian High School in Kamalpokhari, Kathmandu.
A resident of Bharatpur Municipality in the Chitwan district, Mr. Adhikari is renowned for his expertise in cybersecurity and networking. His extensive work has garnered international acclaim, with numerous publications on information security, IT governance, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence. Upon receiving the ICT Excellence Award 2024, Mr. Adhikari remarked, “This award has further encouraged me to contribute more in the field of ICT in the future.”
With more than 21 years of experience in the ICT field, Mr. Adhikari is a prominent figure in Nepal’s cybersecurity landscape. He has shown unwavering dedication to ICT education and awareness, conducting over 500 programs across the country. These initiatives, targeting community schools, government agencies, and the private sector, have significantly enhanced Nepal’s cybersecurity infrastructure.
Beyond his role at CAN, Mr. Adhikari has founded and presides over several critical organizations within Nepal’s ICT sector. He established the Information Security Response Team Nepal (#npCert) and the Center for Cybersecurity Research and Innovation (#CSRI). Additionally, he serves as the managing director of One Cover Private Limited, a leading cybersecurity company in Nepal. His academic contributions include teaching positions at institutions like Softwarica College of IT and E-Commerce and Texas College of Management and IT.
Mr. Adhikari’s efforts extend to developing ICT policies, promoting technology adoption among government entities, and enhancing e-governance to improve public services. His work in establishing cybersecurity standards and conducting ethical hacking workshops has further cemented his role as a leader in the field.
The Adhikari family’s commitment to the ICT sector is evident, with his wife, Mina Aryal, serving as Chief Editor of ICT Frame Magazine, Nepal’s first women-led tech magazine and online blog.
