Increase in Minimum Wage for Nepalese

Kathmandu, August 18 , The government has increased the minimum wages of workers with effect from today. The Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security has increased the minimum wage of workers in accordance with the Labor Act, 2074.

According to which, now the workers other than tea plantations will get a minimum salary of 17 thousand 300 rupees per month. In which basic salary is 10 thousand 820 and dearness allowance is 6 thousand 480 rupees.

Now the workers will get a minimum wage of Rs 668 per day. Part-time workers are eligible to earn Rs 95 per hour.

The monthly minimum wage of tea plantation workers has reached 13 thousand 893 rupees. The daily wage has reached 500 rupees. Now those who work in tea gardens will get a minimum of Rs 66 per hour
